Pocket Garden Blendie with Vaassen Foil

Pocket Garden Blendie is an exciting brand new range of vegetable drinks recently launched into the French market. The recipes for this innovative new drinks range were created by famous French chef Didier Heyl and come in 4 different flavours:

Tomate & Co.
Carotte & Co.
Thai & Co.
Courgette & Co.

The expert chef’s goal is to bring us the fine and delicious taste of vegetables in a bottle with his gorgeous ‘Blendies’ of drinkable vegetables. A team of experts in various fields was brought in to help successfully bring this out on the market. To ensure excellence in production of the Blendie, Laiterie Saint Denis de l’Hotel in France are manufacturing and filling the range. The Coca Cola Company is providing expertise in marketing support, and Bergrams, a specialist in chilled products, is distributing the products into the market.

Vaassen Flexible Packaging was brought in as the development partner for the bottle cap foil. The product is filled in 200ml. clear PET bottles at co-packing company LSDH. The capping foil has been designed to meet the highest standard quality demands and to provide a consumer friendly easy opening without any tearing issues.

Vaassen successfully developed a foil specification to fulfill this challenge consisting of a PET top layer, to prevent the foil from tearing, followed by an Aluminum layer to ensure product freshness, and finally a Heat Seal lacquer to provide a perfect seal to the PET bottle combined with a clean easy peel when opened. The capping foil is printed in an attractive green color complemented by the printing of 2 symbols to make clear that the Blendie should be served chilled and be shaken before opening. The pull tab on each lid is equipped with small vertical rills to provide an even better grip when opening the bottle.
