Innerliner News - Summer 2013

Trends in the industry

Going back in time, life was easy and simple when it came to innerliner bundling wrapping materials. Originally the innerliner was plain silver coloured foil, and mainly used for protecting the cigarettes from moisture and oxygen.

After World War II, the allied soldiers had brought their packs from the USA to Europe and quickly cigarette branding became more and more important. This also broadened the range of innerliner bundling materials. In addition to the traditional silver, gold foil was chosen for the more luxurious brands.

New cigarette sizes, pack styles and products have been developed. At Vaassen, we followed the industry and in the meantime have created more colours and prints than you will find in a rainbow.
